The Community at Work

Berryfields in Aylesbury celebrated the grand opening of the new Jardines Pharmacy on April 19th, which was well-attended by community members including local councillors and Rob Butler OBE MP. The event marked a significant enhancement to local healthcare facilities, aimed at easing the strain on NHS services.

Rob expressed his satisfaction with the project, highlighting the benefits of the Government's Pharmacy First scheme, which allows patients to receive medication for common conditions directly from pharmacies without needing a GP visit. This, he noted, would significantly reduce the pressure on local GP surgeries and provide residents with convenient access to healthcare.

The new pharmacy offers a wide range of services including dispensing NHS and private prescriptions, a Pharmacy First consultation service, vaccinations, support for disease prevention and healthy living, and free blood pressure checks for eligible patients. Additionally, emergency contraception services are available.

Local Parish council member Cllr Laurilee Green commented on the positive impact of the pharmacy, noting the collaborative effort within the community that helped bring the project to fruition. Has Modi, Managing Director of Jardines UK Ltd, also mentioned the lengthy process of opening the pharmacy and the significant community support that made it possible.

The Jardines Pharmacy is committed to providing excellent healthcare and customer service, aiming to meet the varied healthcare needs of the Berryfields community. It is located in the Berryfields Local Centre and offers both walk-in services and online information through its Facebook page.
