Wendover Active Travel Scheme improvement works begin

Today sees the start of £600,000 work to improve the active travel schemes in and around Wendover. The work will improve the cycle and walking networks, helping to promote sustainable travel in the village. 

The work, which is expected to take three months will include a blend of creating new stretches of cycleway, widening and resurfacing existing cycleways & footways as well as adding markings on roads & cycleway signage. With the outcome to combine making it easier for cyclists and pedestrians using a cohesive network. 

Work will include linking the Amber Way cycleway, which currently goes from Aylesbury to Victory Road, Wendover to the village's train station. There will be a new widened cycleway between Halton and and Castle Park Road as well as making improvements and widening along the existing cycleway between Halton Lane and World's End Lane. A new extension to the Amber Way will connect the cycleway to the schools along Wharf Road.
