Residents are being reminded that Aylesbury Household Recycling Centre will temporarily close from 6pm on Tuesday 1 September while essential drainage improvement works are carried out.
The Rabans Close site is expected to remain closed until before the end of December 2026. The works are necessary to ensure the site remains legally compliant and can continue operating in the future. Because of the scale of the work, the recycling centre needs to be completely emptied and cannot remain partially open during construction.
Anyone who needs to use the Aylesbury site before the closure should therefore do so by 6pm on Tuesday 1 September, although during particularly busy periods last entry can be earlier to allow everyone already on site to unload and leave before closing time.
During the temporary closure, residents can use Aston Clinton Household Recycling Centre, which remains open seven days a week. Staff from the Aylesbury site will also be temporarily transferred there to help manage the expected increase in visitors.
Residents planning larger household, garden or DIY projects are encouraged to make use of the Aylesbury site before it closes where possible. Please check the Buckinghamshire Council website before travelling for the latest opening times, accepted materials and webcam information.
