With the local elections only a few weeks away today sees the last full council for a number of Councillors across Buckinghamshire and the Aylesbury constituency is no exception. We would like to thank those Councillors retiring from Buckinghamshire Unitary & Aylesbury Town Council for the amazing work they have done over the years of their terms.
Association Chairman Cllr Richard Newcombe, who is himself standing down from the Wendover, Halton & Stoke Mandeville ward, said, “We are incredibly lucky to have had such dedicated Councillors across our constituency, I know that without their contributions the local areas would be totally different. Their legacy will continue long after they are enjoying their retirement. My thanks to Bill & Sue Chapple, Richard Gaster, Derek Town, David Thompson and although no longer in our constituency until recently Carl Etholen & Tricia Birchley.
I must make special mention of Cllr Bill Chapple who is standing down after 48 years – for many residents he has been their Councillor at District, County or Unitary since birth! There is not a lot that Bill hasn’t seen over the past five decades in Bucks local government and we wish him a peaceful and enjoyable retirement alongside his wife Cllr Sue Chapple who is herself standing down after 18 years representing Mandeville & Elm Farm and Aylesbury South East.”
