Families across Aylesbury can make the most of cheaper and more convenient travel this summer thanks to improvements to the Village Connect on-demand minibus service. From 27 July to 28 August 2026, children under 16 can travel free on Village Connect, Aylesbury when travelling with a paying adult, helping families save money while making it easier to get out and about during the school holidays.
Village Connect is Buckinghamshire Council's on-demand, ride-sharing minibus service, providing flexible transport between Aylesbury and the surrounding villages of Aston Clinton, Bishopstone, Halton, Hartwell, Hulcott, Stoke Mandeville, Weedon and Weston Turville. Rather than following a fixed route or timetable, journeys can be booked on the day or in advance using the app, online or by phone.
During this time you can also enjoy days out at:
- Bucks Goat Centre
- College Lake Nature Reserve
- Marsworth Reservoir
- Wendover Woods (drop off from 8am, last Pick Up 6pm)
Book online or in the app and select 'Child accompanied by adult' for each child.
Village Connect operates Monday to Friday between 6am and 7pm, with fares for other passengers based on journey length. Concessionary Bus Pass holders continue to travel free after 9am. Residents who have not yet tried the service may find this the perfect opportunity to leave the car at home, whether travelling into Aylesbury for shopping, appointments or meeting friends, or returning home to one of the surrounding villages.
