Local MPs David Lidington, Cheryl Gillan and John Bercow have urged the HS2 Hybrid Bill SelectCommittee to reject HS2 Ltd’s challenge to both STOP HS2 and the HS2 Action Alliance’s petitions,which are being heard today.
Local MP David Lidington has presented the Prime Minister with a copy of the board game JASK as a present for his young children. JASK was created by Aylesbury resident Shaun Delaney and is sold in both Hamleys and John Lewis.
This Budget is part of our long-term economic plan to give economic security to the families of Britain. The single biggest risk would be to abandon the plan and listen to Labour’s calls to borrow more, spend more and put up taxes. That would put families’ economic security at risk.
On Monday 10 March David Lidington along with Councillors Neil Blake, Carole Paternoster and Sue Polhill met the Planning Minister Nick Boles to discuss the Aylesbury Local Plan which has recently been withdrawn by Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC) following its rejection by a planning inspector.
Following the recent flooding in the Willows area of Aylesbury local MP David Lidington has spoken to residents affected by the floods and has written a letter to the Secretary of State for Transport. David has asked the Secretary of State on behalf of his constituents whether the construction and operation of HS2 will add to the flood risk on the Willows estate.
Aylesbury Conservatives welcomed the news from Parliament's Standing Orders Committee in both the Commons and Lords agreed that the deadline to reply would be extended due to almost 900 pages of the 50,000 page Environmental Statement not being available until 2nd January. The consultation will now close on Thursday 27th February.
