BFG Spotted in Stokenchurch Library

Stokenchurch Community Library recently held a presentation event for the 41 youngsters who had completed the 2016 Summer Reading Challenge. And for this year’s Roald Dahl-themed Big Friendly Read, who better to hand out the certificates and medals than a Big Friendly Giant.

The BFG (who apparently leads a double life as Ridgeway West County Councillor Carl Etholen) said he thoroughly enjoyed the occasion, and sent his hearty congratulations to all the participants, and to the volunteers of Stokenchurch Community Library for going the extra mile to encourage and reward children’s reading.

Stokenchurch Library also runs a monthly Junior Book Club for 8-12 year olds involving a variety of exciting reading-related activities, and a story-telling session for under-5s each Wednesday morning. For more details see .
