Bus passengers in and around Aylesbury will soon benefit from a series of improvements to local services, thanks to investment from the Conservative-led Buckinghamshire Council working in partnership with local bus operators.

From Monday 3 November, a range of new routes, later evening journeys, and Sunday services will make public transport more convenient for residents across Aylesbury, Wendover, Winslow, and nearby areas.

To encourage more people to try the improved routes, Sunday travel on Aylesbury town services will be free of charge until the end of the year. This offer includes routes 2, 4, and 10.

🚏 Key Service Enhancements Include:

  • Service 1/1E (Aylesbury–Fairford Leys): New evening and hourly Sunday service
  • Service 6B (Aylesbury–Buckingham Park): New hourly Sunday service
  • Service 7/7A/7B (Aylesbury–Bedgrove): More frequent weekday service every 20 minutes and new late evening and Sunday routes
  • Service 11 (Aylesbury–Southcourt): New link to Prebendal Avenue
  • Service 14/14E (Aylesbury–The Coppice/Cleveland Park): Increased frequency, new evening and Sunday services
  • Service 50 (Aylesbury–RAF Halton via Wendover): New late evening journeys
  • Service 60/X60 (Aylesbury–Buckingham via Winslow): Revised route to include Winslow Station and new late evening service

These improvements have been made possible through £1.9 million of grant funding secured by Buckinghamshire Council from the Department for Transport’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) fund.

Cllr Thomas Broom, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Transport, said:

“I am delighted that once again, we have been able to use BSIP funding to invest in local bus services. Enhancing public transport is a key priority for the Council. These improvements give residents more choice, better connections, and greater flexibility to travel sustainably around the county.”

The changes follow successful improvements to bus services in High Wycombe and south Buckinghamshire, with Aylesbury and surrounding areas now the latest to benefit.

🕐 New timetables take effect from Monday 3 November.
