Landowners across Buckinghamshire are being invited to apply for free tree packs this winter as part of Buckinghamshire Council's Bucks Tree Mission, helping to improve biodiversity and create greener spaces for future generations.
The pilot scheme supports the council's ambitious target of planting 543,000 trees across the county and is open to a wide range of organisations and landowners.
Applicants can choose from two types of tree pack:
- Hedging Pack – 135 whips
- Small Tree Pack – 45 whips
Eligible applicants can apply for up to two tree packs, subject to site checks and stock availability.
The scheme is particularly aimed at larger landowners, including:
- Farmers and agricultural landowners
- Town and parish councils
- Schools
- Environmental groups
- Residents' associations
- Local businesses
However, these are just examples, and anyone with suitable land is encouraged to apply.
Before You Apply
As part of the application process, you'll need to provide details of where you intend to plant the trees. This helps ensure the right trees are planted in the right locations and allows Buckinghamshire Council to monitor the county's tree planting efforts.
Key Dates
Applications are now open and will close on 30 September 2026, you can apply at Bucks Tree Mission Tree Pack Pilot winter 2026-27.
Successful applicants will receive their tree packs during the 2026 planting season, with distribution planned for November and December.
